The company (IN THE BOX Fishing Charters) will not tolerate any instance of credit card chargebacks. The customer (buyer), will not, under any circumstances, issue or threaten to issue any chargebacks to the company or to the customer’s credit card and/or form of payment (ie, Stripe, Xola) for any reason whatsoever related to the service purchased. In the event of a chargeback, the company reserves its right to report it to the credit bureaus as an act of fraud.

If for any reason an incident of property damage occurs during your trip, the card on file will be charged an additional fee to cover any required cleaning, repairs, or replacement expenses. The crew additionally holds the right to end the trip at any point (without a refund/credit) due to incidents of property damage or disrespectful behavior to the boat/crew.

A valid fishing license for every passenger age 16+ will be required before boarding the boat. This is Michigan law as well as a commercial fishing liability requirement and will be firmly enforced no matter the circumstances. We make this requirement clear on our website and in your confirmation emails. If passengers are under 18 years old, they must be accompanied by a legal guardian. If passengers are under the age of 16 they do not need a Michigan fishing license.

Trips both begin and end at our dock in the Pier 33 Marina in Saint Joseph unless otherwise stated. We ask that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your scheduled time to begin checking-in your party. Charters begin at your scheduled time regardless if you're late to respect the trip times that follow and the schedules of the crew.

Booking deposits are non-refundable. Trip date/time changes must be made 30+ days prior to scheduled trip to keep booking deposit. If original scheduled trip is altered or cancelled within 30 day window, booking deposit is forfeited and the remaining balance may be charged in full. If there is a NO CALL-NO SHOW situation, the card on file will be charged the full amount of scheduled trip rate. Due to the incredibly short season in this industry, we expect our customers to understand how we cannot accommodate any special cancellation requests.

Weather cancellations are decided day of by the Captain of your trip. The boat is equipped with a removable canvas canopy for rainfall conditions, so your trip will continue despite rainy or windy weather. If your Captain deems the weather to be considered severe/unsafe, they will notify you before your schedule trip time and credit you for a future booking. Severe weather includes lightning and rough seas. Your Captain will be watching the radar day of and weather cancellations are only determined by them for the safety of the crew & passengers.
